Planning to join us for a concert? Whether it’s your first chamber music experience or you’ve been part of the Festival family for years, we want your visit to be easy, welcoming, and enjoyable. Below you’ll find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about tickets, seating, parking, concert etiquette, accessibility, and more.
Because we present concerts in a variety of venues across Amelia Island and the surrounding area, some details vary from event to event. Be sure to check the individual event page when purchasing your tickets, and keep an eye on your inbox! We’ll send ticket holders a concert logistics email the day before each performance with everything you need to know for your visit.
Where are concerts held?
The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival presents concerts at a variety of venues throughout Amelia Island and the surrounding area. Please check each event page for the specific concert location.
When should I arrive?
Doors open 45 minutes before the scheduled start time for all Festival concerts. We recommend arriving early to allow plenty of time for parking, check-in, and finding your seat so you can relax and enjoy the performance.
Where should I park?
Parking varies depending on the concert venue. The day before each concert, we’ll send the ticket purchaser an email with important event details, including parking instructions, venue information, arrival details, and anything else you need to know before the performance. Please keep an eye on your inbox (and check your spam or junk folder, just in case!) so you don’t miss it.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No! You may either print your ticket or show it on your phone. All tickets will be scanned at the door upon arrival. If you can’t find or access your ticket, simply visit the Will Call table when you arrive, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
What happens if I lose or can’t find my ticket?
No worries! Simply check in at the Will Call table when you arrive and provide your name. We’ll take it from there.
Is seating reserved or general admission?
For most Festival concerts, seating is general admission. The first few rows are typically reserved for concert sponsors and donors at certain giving levels, and all reserved seats will be clearly marked. All other available seating is first come, first served.
How long are the concerts, and is there an intermission?
Concerts typically last between one and two hours, depending on the repertoire and the artists’ interaction with the audience. Longer programs may include an intermission. The approximate concert length and intermission information will be listed on each event page and included in the concert logistics email sent to ticket holders the day before the performance.
Do you offer student tickets?
Yes! Students under age 25 with a valid student ID may purchase $15 tickets to most Festival events. To receive the student rate, simply select the Student Ticket option at checkout. A valid student ID must be presented at the door.
What should I wear to a concert?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable and fabulous! We’re on an island, after all. You’ll see everything from jeans, cargo pants, sandals, and Hawaiian shirts to jackets, ties, dresses, and cocktail attire. There is no formal dress code for most Festival events, so come as you are and enjoy the music. If a particular event does have a dress code, it will be clearly noted on the event page.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable.
Can I bring children to a concert?
Absolutely! Children are welcome at Festival concerts. We simply ask that they be able to sit through a program that may last up to two hours without disrupting the experience of those around them. If a child becomes restless or disruptive during the performance, we kindly ask that a parent or guardian step outside with them until they are ready to return.
Are your venues accessible?
Yes. All Festival venues are ADA accessible. It is the policy of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival to comply with all requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
If you need materials in an accessible format, a sign language interpreter, or another accommodation to participate in our programs or performances, please contact us at [email protected] or (904) 261-1779 at least 10 days in advance so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
What happens if I arrive late?
We’ll be happy to seat you at an appropriate break in the program, such as during applause or when an artist is speaking. To minimize disruptions to the performers and other patrons, you may be asked to wait briefly before entering the concert space and will be directed to an available seat.
Can I purchase tickets at the door?
How will I know if a concert is sold out? Is there a waitlist?
Sold-out concerts will be clearly marked on our website. If a concert is sold out, you may join the waitlist by emailing [email protected] with your full name, email address, phone number, and the number of tickets requested. Waitlist requests are handled in the order they are received, and we’ll contact you if tickets become available.
Do you offer discounts or specials?

I’ve never been to a chamber music concert before. What should I expect?
First of all, welcome! You don’t need to know anything about classical music to enjoy a chamber music concert.
When you arrive, you’ll receive a printed program listing the music being performed, information about the artists, and, at some concerts, notes about the music. Chamber music is an especially intimate experience. You’ll be close to the musicians and able to see and hear the interaction between them in a way that isn’t always possible in a large concert hall. Our artists also often speak to the audience and share stories or insights about the music they’re performing.
Some chamber works are made up of several shorter sections called movements. Traditionally, audiences wait until the entire work is finished before applauding rather than clapping between movements. Not sure when to clap? Just take your cue from those around you! And sometimes a movement is so moving, or ends with such a bang, that the audience applauds anyway. That’s perfectly fine, too.
Some works may be just a few minutes long, while larger pieces can last 30–45 minutes or more. There’s nothing you need to study beforehand and no “right” way to experience the music. Settle in, listen, watch the musicians interact, and let yourself get lost in the sound.

Will drinks be available at the concert?
It depends on the venue. A cash bar is available at some Festival concerts, while other venues, particularly many of our church venues, do not permit alcohol. Information about bar service and available beverages will be included in the concert logistics email sent to ticket holders the day before the performance.
