Our 24th Season

Filled with the world’s greatest music, internationally known musicians, and more fun than ever!

Dr. Joseph A. Marasco, Jr.

January 26, 1932 – July 15, 2024

With endless admiration and gratitude we honor the life of our former Executive Director, Dr. Joe Marasco by dedicating our 24th Season to his memory.

Joe, a dedicated and loving husband and father of four was a true Renaissance man. He was a radiologist, an amateur violinist, a “decent” golfer, gourmet cook, and a man of faith and integrity. He possessed a keen wit and had a natural comfort and ease with others, winning smiles from famous stars to beginning students. Regardless of the group or organization, Joe rose to top leadership positions. Before moving to Amelia Island, over several years he acquired various roles with the Pittsburg Opera. He served as President of the Board, Executive Vice President and Interim Director. His superior work earned Joe the compliment of being the “glue” that held them together.

Joe and his wife, Carrie, purchased an Amelia Island condo in 1983 and moved here permanently in 2000. In 2004 and 2005 Joe joined the boards of ARIAS, the Jacksonville Symphony, and the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. In 2013 the AICMF board asked him to assume the position of Executive Director. During the next seven years he helped to usher in a new level of artistic excellence and financial stability. Following open heart surgery in 2020 he resigned his position, however, when his health improved he rejoined us as
Executive Director Emeritus.

Joe’s passion and enthusiasm for sharing the music he loved helped to ensure the quality and depth of excellence that our audiences as well as those who have performed here with us have known. With nostalgia we remember, with optimism we continue forward. We remain committed and inspired by this one who provided dedication, leadership, and vision.

AICMF News

The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival (AICMF) Board of Directors has named Robyn Lamp the new Executive Director of the festival.

Lamp’s experience as an arts administrator and classical musician, combined with a passion for promoting classical music in her community will help advance the mission of the organization that is entering its 24th season. “After an extensive search,” says Emma Mills Bledsoe, AICMF Board of Directors President. “We are most pleased to welcome Robyn Lamp as our Executive Director. Her knowledge, experience, and pursuit of excellence bringing music to our community and now to our organization will ensure that we are continuing to be an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Southeast.”

When Lamp assumes the role on October 21, 2024, she will manage the day-to-day operations for one of the most prestigious chamber music festivals in the nation, known for its world-class performances and music education programs. Lamp, alongside the Board of Directors, will lead fundraising efforts, as well as marketing and community engagement initiatives. “Before I made Amelia Island my home in 2020, I would attend AICMF concerts as a visitor. I was always excited and impressed by the high-quality programming presented by AICMF. I am truly humbled to have been entrusted with the responsibility of advancing the mission of this great organization,” says Lamp.

Lamp currently serves as the Company Manager for IlluminArts in Miami, Florida. In 2021, she co-founded Amelia Island Opera and serves as its Board Secretary. Lamp, a classically trained opera singer, earned her Master of Music at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Since that time, Lamp has worked as a freelance opera and choral singer. Highlights of her career include soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall and Mechanic’s Hall, (Worcester, MA,) singing as an ensemble member of the GRAMMY nominated vocal ensemble Seraphic Fire, performing the title role in Puccini’s Tosca with the Naples Philharmonic, and singing the role of Adele in Bellini’s rarely heard Il pirata at Caramoor’s Music Festival with Orchestra of St. Luke’s. For a full list of Robyn’s accomplishments, readers can visit her website at www.robynmarielamp.com.

Lamp begins her new position in time to oversee the organization’s 2024-25 Season, which includes performances by Mark and Maggie O’Connor, pianist Jeremy Denk, the Takacs Quartet, classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, and others. “We are thrilled that Robynis joining our team to present the best musicians in the world on Amelia Island at the Festival. With her extensive and administrative background, we are poised for a great future ahead.” says William Ransom, AICMF’s Artistic Director.
